Heads for Mars

Cosmotronic is proud to announce it has built printed circuit boards that are a part of NASA’s Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter (MRO), scheduled to launch during the summer of 2005.  The MRO will travel closer to the Martian surface than any previous orbiter and will provide detailed climate and geological information about the “red planet”.  The data returned to Earth by the MRO could be as great as 40 times that of any previous Mars mission and will be essential in planning future Mars landing sites for rover and human exploration.  Additionally, the MRO could help solve the mysterious disappearances of the Beagle 2 spacecraft and the Mars Polar Lander.

“Working with JPL (Jet Propulsion Laboratory at California Institute of Technology), Cosmotronic engineers developed proprietary processes to laminate a machined aluminum heat sink to polyimide core then drill, passivate and metallize the active aluminum surface prior to Copper/Nickel/Gold plating in conventional PWB manufacturing processes.  For more information about Cosmotronic’s technical capabilities, please contact Nef Rios or Joe Felts.”
